Each year new emoji are drawn and published. Because of World Emoji Day, it's that time again with the announcement of Emoji 14. 102 new emoji are up for vote on later in the year. Also this year we see more mixed skin tones. For example, the shaking hands emoji will soon also be mixable. So there will be nóg more, but luckily emojis are easier to find.
New emoji from 2021
From a melting face to a troll, we think there are quite a few stickers in the new emoji. The emoji we see now are just sketches. This means that companies such as Apple and Google will make their own version of this. Before they do, there will be a vote on the drafts. The Unicode Consortium will consider the emoji in September, but we expect nothing to change.
This year we also see emoji becoming more diverse. As mentioned, more emoji can be mixed in terms of skin color, but gender identity has also been considered. For example, this year Pregnant man and Pregnant person will be introduced, for pregnant women who do not identify as a woman. Emojipedia emphasizes that almost all emoji now have a gender neutral option.
As usual, some everyday objects are also added, such as a bird's nest with and without eggs, coral, a slide, a disco ball, an empty battery and more . For a complete overview you can contact Emojipedia. By the way, don't be alarmed by the number 102, because that includes all skin colors per new emoji.
It is not yet known when exactly Apple will implement the emoji. We expect this to happen in a version of iOS 15. That could be iOS 15.1 or iOS 15.2, and so on. Of course you will read everything new in future software updates on iCulture.
World Emoji Day: Saturday, July 17, 2021

You can already vote on the World Emoji Awards website. The organization will announce the winning emoji next Saturday. You can follow the results on Twitter. Which emoji is your favorite? Are you going for coral in the context of climate change? Do you choose the person with the crown because of gender neutrality?
