Top-down action in the style of the classic GTA 2 combined with a cyberpunk setting promises glitchpunk. The PC game developed by the Polish studio Dark Lord and distributed by the German publisher Daedalic will be released as an unfinished Early Access version on Steam on August 11th.
“Run, Hack, steal, drive, shoot and blast your way through the criminal underworld of the future, ”these are the words the developers use to describe the glitchpunk gameplay. A large arsenal of weapons, means of transport such as cars, tanks or trains and wild chases with the police with different levels of wanted mansion are also promised – all of this is just as reminiscent of Grand Theft Auto 2.
In a post-nuclear, sex and drug-flooded dystopian world ruled by megacorporations and tech gangs, the player takes on the role of an android. Thanks to his “glitch”, he can act against his programming and sets out to take action against the tyrannical governments in four different cities. The wild action is to be accompanied by “futuristic beats”, news and absurd advertising from the car radio. Glitchpunk is a single player game.
