Do you like drawing with your iPad? Then don't skip this video! In just 10 minutes, Krista Porter tells you how to draw yourself as a Peanuts character. Porter is the storyboard artist for The Snoopy Show, an Apple TV+ series. This is the first video in a series of Today at Apple sessions delivered online by famous people. Apple previously released a series of Today at Apple sessions with its own employees.
Draw yourself as a Peanuts character with an iPad and Apple Pencil
All you need to draw yourself is an iPad and an Apple Pencil, but you could also do it with an iPhone and your finger. This video promotes Apple's Pages app for signing up. Logical, because Apple tries to sell its own products. If you prefer to work on paper, we won't stop you. 😉
From lollipops to baguettes and spaghetti: the terms are all covered in this explainer video. The nice thing about the Peanuts characters is that they don't follow any strict rules. All the characters look alike, but it doesn't have to be precise and it's quite simplistic. You start with a basic shape of your character, then you add two or three signature parts of yourself. If you have striking hair or are known for always smiling, these are nice characteristic parts.
If you have little inspiration for a face or environment, you can download a PDF with free samples from Apple. This explainer video is the first in a series of Today at Apple sessions on YouTube. The nice thing is that you don't have to sign up for this because it's always on YouTube. More videos to follow later.
Normally you have to visit a physical Apple Store to participate in such sessions. Although the sessions are slightly more extensive than what we see in this video, a video can be nice, especially if you are unsure about participating. If you drew yourself as a Peanuts character, we'd love to see them on Twitter at @iCulture!
