Spain allocates 4.3 billion euros for electric vehicles, one billion for charging stations

Spain announces that it has promoted an investment worth 4.3 billion euros to incentivize the production of electric vehicles. The measure falls within the scope of a national investment program for several; broad spectrum of 13 billion on mobility; sustainable, allocated thanks to the funds provided by the EU Recovery Fund. This was announced by the President of the Government Pedro S & aacute; nchez: & quot; & Egrave; important for Spain to anticipate the ongoing transition in the European automotive sector, '' he said.

The plan, which aims to stimulate private investment insists, from what it filters, on the entire production chain, then from the extraction of lithium for the batteries to the finished electric vehicle, ready for the dealer. And in pole position there are already; Seat, an Iberian manufacturer included in the Volkswagen galaxy, and Iberdrola, among the main Spanish energy companies, which would have an agreement to participate in the invitation of the Government through the construction of a production plant near Barcelona – it would be the first in the country – for the production of batteries for electric vehicles.

Of the resources allocated by the executive of S & aacute; nchez one billion euros will go to to the strengthening of the charging infrastructure. Thus, the Government foresees, the contribution to the national economy of the automotive sector will be able to; reach 15% by 2030 from the current 10%, also through the contribution of related industries. Potentially, in total, the government estimates over 100,000 new jobs could be created.

The target in terms of electric vehicles registered is; really ambitious: the Iberian government would like to reach 250,000 cars & quot; on tap & quot; by 2023 , when just 18,000 were registered in 2020.
