BenQ is apparently preparing two new monitors for gamers, which are characterized by a strongly curved VA panel (1000R), the WQHD resolution and a refresh rate of up to 165 Hz. The EX2710R measures 27 inches, while the EX3210R has a diagonal of 31.5 inches.
Strongest curvature on the market to date
< p class = "p text-width">The two newcomers have not yet been introduced by BenQ, but initial information was discovered on the PC Monitors website (presumably from dealerships). The curvature in a radius of one meter (1000R) is currently the strongest in the gaming monitor market, although the panel manufacturer AUO has already shown a gaming display with a 0.8 meter radius (800R). PC Monitors also suspects this manufacturer to be behind the VA panel of the new BenQ monitors. However, BenQ is not the first manufacturer with 1000R curved displays, because Samsung started with its Odyssey models. For example, MSI also uses this radius for the MPG Artymis 343CQR (test).
VA with WQHD and 165 Hz
The EX2710R and EX3210R from the Mobiuz series for gamers share the panel type, which is known for high contrast, and the resolution of 2,560 × 1,440 pixels in the familiar 16: 9 format. A static contrast ratio of 3,000: 1, 400 cd/m² maximum brightness for DisplayHDR 400 and 8-bit color depth can be assumed for both. Around 90 percent of the DCI-P3 color space should be achieved.
Thanks to the “strobe backlight” for reducing motion blur reduction, the moving picture response time (MPRT) should be 1 ms. AMD FreeSync Premium Pro is supported in the frequency range from 48 to 165 Hz including LFC.
Subwoofer integrated
The illustration on the back of the EX3210R indicates the special treVolo sound system, because a large speaker opening can be seen above the stand, which is used for the integrated 5-watt subwoofer. Further down, behind a cover, are the connections, which include a DisplayPort 1.4, two HDMI 2.0s, a headphone output and two USB 3.0 ports.
The BenQ EX2710R will be listed according to the report for 550 British pounds (~ 644 euros) and the BenQ EX3210R for 700 US dollars (~ 593 euros). The sources for these prices are, however, withheld. With an allegedly expected availability in September 2021, official information should not be long in coming.
