AXP90-X47 Full Copper: Revised SFF cooler made of copper for AMD and Intel

The only 47 mm high full copper cooler AXP90, which was previously divided into the models AXP90i for Intel and AXP90R for AMD CPUs, has been rebranded as AXP90-X47 Full Copper and fits henceforth with a modified assembly kit on both platforms. The radiator has also been slightly redesigned.

Smaller but not one of the smallest SFF coolers

With the AXP90-X47 Full Copper, Thermalright has relaunched another exotic model made entirely of copper for the SFF segment, which with a height of 47 millimeters also fits into narrow housings. The recently unveiled AXP90-X36 in black, which comes with a fan to a height of 36 mm, is even lower.

At Thermalright, the AXP90-X47 Full Copper follows the two copper coolers AXP90i and AXP90R, which were only introduced last year for the SFF segment, which at the time were still coupled to different platforms. In the future, there will only be one version of a new assembly system that the manufacturer has also slightly adapted to the changed conditions of modern platforms.

Less Slats for square design

Although there is still a base and four copper heat pipes attached to it, which transport the waste heat away from the CPU, these now end in a slightly modified radiator that offers less cooling surface and thus less power than before. The heat sink now consists of 54 instead of 57 copper fins, which is also reflected in the dimensions.

In contrast to the two models from last year, the AXP90-X47 Full Copper has an almost square shape with edge lengths of 94.5 and 95 mm (L × D). Despite the reduced number of fins, the copper cooler weighs 30 grams more at 520 grams. With the 2021 model of the AXP90-X47 made of copper, Thermalright leaves the fan model already used, which is 15 instead of 25 millimeters deep and works at a comparatively high maximum speed of 2,700 rpm. This concept buys peak performance by increasing the volume.

Flexible assembly system suitable for AMD and Intel

Despite the compact dimensions, the AXP90-X47 Full Copper attached with a back plate. As is customary in this segment, assembly must take place after the bracket has been attached to the rear of the mainboard. The model is compatible with Intel's mainstream processor mounts LGA 1200 and 115x, with AMD it can be mounted on AM4 boards.

When and at what price the flat CPU cooler will be available in Germany is unclear.
