EasyNAS 1.0.0 at a glance
EasyNAS, first published in 2016, relies on the Btrfs file system, which guarantees stability, security and high data throughput. In addition, the distribution offers further functions that are not necessarily part of the standard equipment even with comparable paid NAS systems.
EasyNAS 1.0.0 offers file system compression, the creation of snapshots, Copy-on-write, resizing partitions while the system is running, a permanent status check of the file system and much more.
Since the free NAS operating system is one-to-one binary compatible with openSUSE, it is also very easy to expand. The YouTube channel “TechPassport” demonstrates the installation of EasyNAS on a virtual machine.
Further information is provided by the extensive documentation and the official system requirements on the EasyNAS website.
