At iCulture we love easter eggs. These are funny references or games in software that you as a user have to look for. Google has certainly eaten cheese, but Apple has also hidden Easter eggs in all kinds of places. A new easter egg was recently discovered in the Google app that we didn't want to keep from you.

Pinball with a Google easter egg

The pinball machine is well hidden, but with the right knowledge it is quite easy to find. You do need to get rid of all your current tabs though. If you are very attached to that, then unfortunately you cannot play pinball. Follow these steps:

  1. Install the Google app if you don't already have it and open the app.
  2. Open the Tabs menu at the bottom right.
  3. Clear all your tabs with the trash can button at the top.
  4. Tap the tabs menu button as many times as you can.
  5. Do you see blocks appear? Swipe up and play!

The pinball machine also contains power-ups, such as an extra life or an extra large ball. You can also earn a power-up that temporarily gets two balls. So it is quite possible to get a really high score. You will soon notice that levels get a bit more difficult as you progress through the game. There is even a scoring system, just like on a real pinball machine.

Unfortunately there is no way to play with friends or keep track of your score, but we didn't have that with a simple easter egg either expected. It's nice enough that Google is building this in. When you're done playing, you can just swipe things down again or open another tab. The next time you open the app you will still see the flippers, but you can only play if you swipe it up yourself.
