HomePod overheats in beta 15

Apple is releasing beta versions for countless devices, both for developers and public beta testers. There is no official beta for the HomePod, but an AppleSeed beta is available to users who have been invited. They can already test the upcoming HomePod functions. But they don't enjoy the test very much. It turns out that software version 15 is still full of bugs, causing the speaker to overheat.

By the way, anyone who really wants to can install the beta software for the HomePod, because the necessary profile can be found via Google. However, we do not recommend this, because quite a few problems occur. On Reddit, users warn each other: it's best to unplug the HomePod from the wall outlet, because the top gets too hot. This can cause the motherboard to break. It also happens that the HomePod turns itself off because of too high a temperature. Another problem is that Siri cannot pause the music. Tap the top and the HomePod will skip to the next track, but will not stop playing.

As with the Apple Watch, it is not possible to downgrade the HomePod to an earlier software version. So you'll have to wait for future betas to fix the issue, or put the HomePod on hold for a few weeks until version 15 is officially released.
