New filament lamps at IKEA
IKEA has released two new filament lamps and two new lamps with frosted glass in the IKEA Tradfri series. The filament lamps are equipped with an E27 and E14 connection and cost €7.99 each. Something has changed compared to the predecessor from 2019. The variant with E27 connection has become two euros cheaper and the glass is no longer tinted. In addition, the fitting is now colored black with silver, instead of gold. The light intensity remains 250 Lumen, comparable to a traditional 30 Watt bulb. This makes it especially suitable for mood lighting.
In addition, IKEA now also offers a pear-shaped Tradfri filament lamp with an E14 fitting, which also costs €7.99.
Now also lamps with frosted glass
>If you prefer not to see the filament, there are also two large lamps with frosted glass. These cost €12.99 each and are available as a round ball or in a somewhat elongated model. They have a light intensity of 470 Lumen.
To control and use smart functions you also need the Tradfri hub, which has been reduced in price a bit these days (namely from €32.95 to €24.95). You can then control the lamps via the IKEA app and have them work together with HomeKit. If you have roommates with a technical challenge, you could also opt for one of the light switches or smart buttons.
