It seems that Tesla really intends to open his Supercharger network to other cars electric, at least in part and in some countries. Recently there was news that Andreas Scheuer , the German transport minister, was discussing with Tesla the possibility; that the American manufacturer would also open its charging network to all other electric vehicles in the country. Now, from Norway and Sweden have arrived some very interesting indiscretions that give a more indication; clear of what would be happening.

TESLA AIMS FOR STATE FUNDS

Tesla has applied to Vestland County in Norway to have access to funds for the construction of charging infrastructures. These funds, however, can rightly be given only to public charging points and not to private ones. Supercharger stations, as known, are only accessible to owners of American electric cars. According to the documentation Teslarati had access to, Norwegian officials have confirmed that Tesla will open & agrave; the Supercharger network (at least in part, then we'll see why) to other car manufacturers by the end of September 2022 .

Specifically, in Tesla's application for funds for < strong> 5 charging stations , the American manufacturer makes it known that they will be accessible to the public starting from the third quarter of 2022. It seems, therefore, that the opening to other cars may only concern these stations and not all those present in Norway. Technically, in order to have access to the funds, Tesla should make only the incentive infrastructure accessible to other car manufacturers.

Obviously, only the American manufacturer can. shed light on the agreements it is making with the Governments but for the first time we have a certain time date for the opening of the Superchargers to other cars. Apparently, however, it seems that Tesla may also want to open its charging infrastructure in Sweden, at least partially. The builder has applied for state funds for 6 stations . Also in this case & egrave; it can only be accessed if the charging points are public . In his question, the manufacturer pointed out that they will be available to everyone.

Is Tesla planning to partially make its Superchargers public throughout Europe or only in certain countries? At the moment & egrave; difficult to understand exactly. What appears clear is; that the manufacturer is working to obtain the funding that various countries have made available for the expansion of the charging network . An absolutely acceptable choice given that the American manufacturer is investing heavily in its infrastructure to continuously expand it. This might suggest that the opening will take place only where the brand will succeed; to obtain state funding for his network.

This is obviously just a hypothesis. To understand what is really going on you need to & agrave; wait for some statement from Tesla. At least for Norway, however, there is talk of by the end of September 2022. Therefore, the manufacturer will have; all the time to expand its network. Many owners of American electric cars have not reacted positively to these rumors. Superchargers have always been an added value for Tesla and having to share them could compromise the charging experience as there would be the risk of finding them more and more; occupied by other electric cars.

But with state funds Elon Musk could expand them in such a way as to avoid this problem. Also, with more entry for top-ups, Tesla could continue more & ugrave; its expansion plans quickly.
