Audi expects to stop the launch of new endothermic models from 2026, at least according to the German press. This does not mean that the constructor will stop. to sell petrol and diesel models from that date but that will focus; totally on the launch of electric cars only. Hybrids would also be sidelined. Now, further information is coming from Germany that allows us to shed more light on this strategy which is expected to be officially recognized.

NEW AUDI Q8, THE ULTIMATE ENDOTHERMIC?
According to Automobilwoche, the manufacturer will not launch; on the market a new generation of its A3 and A4. These models will be replaced by the A3 e-tron and A4 e-tron obviously 100% electric. The same fate should also befall the A5 and A6 models. Speaking of the A6 e-tron, Audi already has; anticipated the concept car of the future production model during the last Shanghai Motor Show. It should arrive in the course of 2023 and will pogger & agrave; on the PPE platform developed by the house of the 4 rings together with Porsche. The concept was also characterized by a 100 kWh battery and an autonomy of up to 700 km.
In 2022 we already know; that will come also the Q6 e-tron, a close relative of the future new electric Macan, which will pogger & agrave; always on the PPE platform. It seems that the latest endothermic model that Audi will launch on the market in 2026 will be; the new generation of the Q8 that will debut & agrave; together with the electric version Q8 e-tron. According to the German press, the commercialization of endothermic models should last until 2032. Subsequently, Audi should become an electric-only brand.
This is interesting information which, however, must always be taken with due caution but which allows us to better understand what the manufacturer's program should be in its conversion to an electric-only brand. After all, it has long been known that the house with the 4 rings was thinking about a path to gradually abandon the sale of endothermic models. Already we knew, for example, that the brand had decided to stop developing new combustion engines also due to the severe restrictions of the future Euro 7 standard.
At this point it is not possible; to do is wait for some official announcement from Audi that reveals its program for the future in detail. If the strategy will be confirmed, it will be; of a very ambitious and very different plan from that, for example, of BMW which just recently warned about the risks that can be run by betting everything on electric immediately.
