Abroad. After comparing the protection of the mouth with the persecution of Jews, Republican politician Marjorie Taylor Greene went to a Holocaust museum and begged for forgiveness. But now the American Jewish Congress announces that her apology will not be accepted.

“Marjorie Taylor Greene, your apology is NOT accepted!” writes the American Jewish Congress (AJC) in a statement on its website.

It was on Monday that Taylor Greene, a Republican congressman, held a press conference at the Great Holocaust Museum in Washington DC.

She then appealed to the Jews to forgive her for comparing the requirement to wear a mouth guard with how Jews were forced to wear the Stars of David as distinctive symbols in Nazi Germany.

According to AJC chairman Jack Rosen, however, her proposal is unforgivable. He also dismisses Marjorie Taylor Greene's statement that she is just “an ordinary person”.

– This is completely wrong. An American congressman is not normal. Their words and opinions are disproportionately important and can influence and excite like-minded followers. Furthermore, the views expressed by Taylor Greene are not “normal”. They expose either a gross ignorance of the most catastrophic event in human history, or a cold indifference to the suffering that that event still causes, says Jack Rosen.
