Not much is known about the Apple Watch Series 7. A source recently reported that the Apple Watch Series 7 would get a new design, but little is known about new functions. Now, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman writes that the Apple Watch Series 7 will get a better screen.

‘Apple Watch Series 7 will get a better display’

Apple would prefer the model of tested a new screen this year. The screen in the Apple Watch Series 7 will probably get narrower bezels, bringing the screen closer to the body of the watch itself. Whether this also means that the screen sizes will change is unknown. Apple now still uses the 40mm and 44mm formats. In addition, Apple is testing a new technique for screen lamination, which makes the display itself closer to the glass panel. It is not clear whether a different screen technique will be used. Apple would eventually like to use a micro-LED.

Bloomberg also talks about an improved chip with faster performance. Apple adds a new chip with a faster processor almost every year. This year it would probably be the S7 chip. Part of the new chip is an improved Ultra-Wideband function. The Apple Watch Series 6 already has a U1 chip, but Apple would like to use this more in the coming years. In watchOS 8, Apple adds Home Keys, which you can use to open your door lock via NFC.

Other health functions such as a glucose meter will come later, according to the source. Apple would also like to build a body thermometer into the Apple Watch.
