Last year, Apple released a more affordable Apple Watch SE. This Apple Watch is mainly intended for anyone who wants a modern new Apple Watch, but has less need for the advanced health functions and wants to be cheaper. This year there will probably be no successor to the Apple Watch SE, but next year it will be different. According to Bloomberg, Apple has planned a new Apple Watch SE in 2022.
‘Apple Watch SE will receive successor in 2022’
The current Apple Watch SE resembles the Apple Watch Series 5 and Apple Watch Series 6 in many ways, but lacks some of the features of both models. For example, there is no always-on screen and the ECG and saturation meter are also missing. Recent additions such as the compass and always-on altimeter are present in the Apple Watch SE, making this an attractive model for many users.
Apple will probably not make any changes to this model this year. The Apple Watch SE is expected to take the place of the Apple Watch Series 3, making it slightly cheaper. A new Apple Watch SE will not be released until next year, i.e. in 2022, according to Bloomberg. It is still unclear what is new in this model, but it is probably an updated chip. Don't expect most of the new features in the 2022 model of the Apple Watch SE. It is also unknown whether Apple will also adapt the design to the likely new design of the Apple Watch Series 7.
But the new Apple Watch SE is not the only model that Apple will release in 2022. The new Apple Watch 2022 and a sturdy sports version will probably also appear next year.
