The next part of Age of Empires will be released this fall. In addition, two other peoples, the French and the Abbasid Caliphate, which ruled the entire Middle East and North Africa in the 9th century, were revealed as part of E3 2021.

Abbasids lead camel archers and camel riders into battle. They can also research special upgrades in the “House of Wisdom”. The strength of the French, however, lies in trade. Two corresponding buildings should be advantageous in the later course of a game. They send royal knights into battle. Johanna von Orleans, who was allowed to appear in Age of Empires 2, will also celebrate a comeback, according to the trailer. This is no wonder, however, as the Hundred Years War between the French and British will be one of the campaigns.

Age of Empires IV is aimed at fans of more complex strategy games. Microsoft had already outlined how the ideas and concepts of the classics would be taken up in April. There was no sign of simplification that was temporarily in the genre trendy.

The strategy game can now be pre-ordered from around 60 euros, a 20 euros more expensive deluxe edition contains additional skins for monument, player profile and coat of arms as well as the soundtrack, a digital table for unit counter and a digital painting. A purchase without tests, as in other cases, does not seem advisable. Reviews are not expected until publication on October 28, 2021. It can be bought in the Microsoft Store and on Steam.
