“We encourage those who oppose this measure to reflect on the signal you are sending to the players you support,” the FA wrote in a statement ahead of the match at Wembley Stadium on Sunday.

The union continues:

“Please respect their wishes and remember that we should all be united in the fight against discrimination. Together. They will do their best for you. Please do your best for them. “

In two previous warm-up matches at Wembley Stadium, the English players have been booed by their own supporters when they made the far-left gesture, something that has caused the national team's national team captain Gareth Southgate to collapse.

The match between England and Croatia starts at 3 pm on Sunday.
