Politikerdraget – which aimed to show support for “diversity” and “tolerance” and the like – was praised in the media.

The municipality announced that the crossing would continue to be used as usual despite the new colors.

However, the National Police Board was able to state that it is contrary to the Road Traffic Act to cover or change the white stripes at a pedestrian crossing.

Only hours after the police decision, the colors were washed away, writes Turku Notifications.
