Full throttle, economy flame and a mini upgrade
With the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti, the “new top model for gamers”, Nvidia fills the technically small gap between the RTX 3090 and RTX 3080. Full throttle with the GPU, backlight on memory, was the conclusion of the editors: The graphics card offers almost the raw performance the big 3090, but only half as much memory. The surcharge to 3080: 480 euros in the price list.
The GeForce RTX 3070 Ti unpacks the crowbar compared to the GeForce RTX 3070 (test) with 290 instead of 220 watts TDP , but is still barely faster and does not offer more memory. The editors' conclusion: this only works in the year 2021, at an additional cost of 100 euros in the price list, where the much more sensible choice of 3070 or 3080 is not simply possible.
For a better classification, the non-binding price recommendations from Nvidia and AMD for the current generation of graphics cards based on Ampere and RDNA 2.
