STARTING FROM 25,000 POUNDS WITH 20 KWH BATTERY

Electric motor and transmission are those of the Japanese car, while the 20 kWh battery pack is; It was placed partly in the trunk and partly under the rear seat. The declared autonomy is of 100-120 kilometers, while for recharging & egrave; connection to a 13A domestic socket is sufficient. LEC has demonstrated the possibility; to electrify the Mini Classic with the Leaf powertrain with a specimen from the University; Birmingham, but the service & egrave; available to all interested customers.

The price starts from 25,000 pounds (only conversion kit with 20 kWh battery), but it can; go up if you choose to install a larger engine; performance or different batteries. Customers can convert a Mini Classic already; in their possession or ask LEC to recover one by paying a surcharge.

LEC founder Matthew Quitter , explains:

As a classic car enthusiast and an advocate of economical and sustainable electric vehicle conversion, it made sense for us to focus on the original Mini. With this electric conversion we wanted the Mini Classic to be an economical solution dedicated to the inhabitants of the cities, not only of our city; hometown London but around the world, to tackle traffic and help stop pollution.

LEC adds that the choice to reuse the Leaf's transmission engine is; was taken after having carried out in-depth research and analysis from which & egrave; emerged that it would have been a more solution; eco-sustainable compared to the creation of a new engine. The Mini joins the range of vehicles that LEC allows to electrify and which includes Land Rover, Morris Minor and Morris Traveler. The timing to convert the vehicle is on average 3 months , but can reach 6 months in the case of projects that require more customizations; complex.
