At Computex 2021, other manufacturers are also taking a position on the subject of new DDR5 RAM. Apacer wants to serve the entire market, starting with regular UDIMM according to JEDEC specifications via SO-DIMM of the same league and RDIMM to gaming solutions with effective 6,400 MHz under their Zadak branding.
DDR5 for AMD Zen 4 and Intel from Alder Lake
It's without a doubt the big thing for any memory maker this year: DDR5. As one of the well-known brands, Apacer will not only offer classic solutions, especially in the OEM/ODM environment, but will also present overclocked modules under the relatively young gaming brand Zadak. With the upcoming DDR5 RDIMM server memory, Apacer also confirms support not only for Intel's Eagle Stream platform with new Sapphire Rapids processors, but also for AMD's Genoa Zen 4 processors expected in 2022. The target for both is the DDR5-4800 standard with CL40.

The fact that Zen 4 will largely rely on DDR5 continues in the support list for the SO-DIMM variants as well as UDIMM from Apacer. Here, too, Zen 4 is mentioned again, alongside Intel Alder Lake as the 12th generation Core, which will be the first processors to use DDR5 in the mass market at the end of this year. Here, too, Apacer names DDR5-4800 as a target, although this is primarily due to the JEDEC specifications, which provide this as a standard.
The fact that things can and should also go faster is evident in the gaming brand: The manufacturer is aiming for at least one DDR5-6400 for the Zadak modules of the new DDR5 series. However, this is already part of the JEDEC, at the end of the day there is the question of the timing: These are still unknown and could deviate from the specifications, which is the rule, especially with gaming modules.
Series production 2H/2021, broad mass 2022
According to the product images, Apacer always uses chips from Micron, the capacity should be there always 16 or 32 GB per module. In the server environment, however, this number will probably increase significantly at the start, at least 64 GB modules should be available. According to the manufacturer, series production is about to start, but the really broad availability is not aimed for until 2022. Not surprisingly, most suitable products will not be available sooner anyway.
