Jonsbo HX6250: Large 250 watt cooler provides space for heat sinks

With the HX6250, Jonsbo has added a massive single-tower cooler with six heatpipes for common desktop cases. Theoretically, it should be able to dissipate up to 250 watts of power loss with the installed 140 mm fan. The manufacturer has chosen the color black for the radiator and the fan as a finish.

Single-tower cooler for tight spaces around the base

The Jonsbo HX6250 is one of the heavyweights with a weight of just under 1.2 kg and only one factory-fitted fan. The large lamellar tower is traversed by six heat conduction tubes, which lead the waste heat away from the copper base plate, which is coated with a layer of nickel.

With dimensions of 144 × 121 × 162 mm (L × W × H), the cooler requires quite a bit of space and, with the specified height, is no longer compatible with all common housings “>As a special feature, Jonsbo has given the HX6250 an asymmetrical arrangement of the radiator to the base plate, which means that the processor cooler leaves enough distance to the RAM banks, and a recess facing the connection strip. Due to this, the assembly can also be carried out on mainboards with large heat sinks for voltage converters or other obstacles in this region, despite the size. In addition, the HX6250 has a top cover for the radiator, which hides the ends of the heat pipes for a uniform finish.

The 140 mm Fan offers silent mode

The manufacturer has also chosen a new model for the fan with a diameter of 140 mm, which is visually in line with the rest of the cooler. It is also striking that all surfaces are uniformly black. In addition to the lamellar body and the heat conduction tubes, the base plate is powder-coated with a graphene-containing material. The fan has a working range of 700 – 1,800 rpm via PWM signal, in the throttled L.N.A. mode an even lower speed range of 400 – 1,200 rpm. However, the manufacturer has not installed RGB lighting. Thanks to the mounting system, the model is compatible with current mid-range sockets from AMD and Intel.

Price and availability

Jonsbo has not yet given an official price recommendation for the HX6250, nor has it yet Details about the start of sales made in this country. Usually this type of air cooler costs between 60 and 80 euros. As a powerful alternative, there are also large twin tower models, which are often already equipped with two fans.
