European truck manufacturers are working to drastically reduce polluting emissions from freight transport on the road, to reach the goal of neutrality; carbon dioxide by 2050. From this point of view, zero-emission vehicles will be a fundamental part of this plan. ACEA , the European association of manufacturers, underlines the infrastructure issue . Heavy vehicles certainly can't use cars.

70 STATIONS IN ITALY BY 2030
An even bigger problem ; great if we talk about Fuel Cell trucks on which several manufacturers are working. A technology that is still very much discussed and in which not everyone wants to invest. However, it is finding interesting applications in the HGV sector. ACEA points out, in fact, that from the half & agrave; the fuel cell truck offering of the decadewill increase significantly and estimates that by 2030 there will be at least 60,000 vehicles with this technology on European roads. However, today, the infrastructure for these vehicles is; almost completely absent. For the association, therefore, this problem must be addressed urgently.
For this reason, ACEA is calling for an intervention from the European political world to ensure a rapid expansion of the hydrogen supply network in the Old World. The opportunity may come with the upcoming revision of the Alternative Fuels Infrastructure Directive . According to the association, a target of 300 fuel cell truck stations in Europe should be set by 2025. This number should rise to at least 1,000 by 2030.
Also by 2030, a hydrogen station should be placed at least every 200 km along the TEN & # 8208; T network. A Fuel Cell truck station should have a capacity; of at least six tons of hydrogen per day, with a minimum of two distributors per station. And to better quantify the distribution of these refueling sites, ACEA has prepared a map showing, by 2025 and 2030, how many stations should be present.
In Italy , for example, 20 refueling sites should be created by 2025, which should rise to 70 in 2030. Germany should, on the other hand, be the country with the most; high concentration of stations: 85 by 2025 and as many as 300 by 2030. This is; just one of the many requests that the association is making to Europe regarding infrastructure for zero-emission vehicles. If you really want to bet quickly to their diffusion, & egrave; in fact, an organic plan is necessary for a quick expansion of recharging or refueling points.
