Apple & rsquo; s vice president for product marketing of home and audio products Tim Twerdahl gave an interview to MobileSyrup, talking about the updated Apple TV 4K . The renewed Siri Remote is one of the biggest improvements: it has more buttons and you can now also control your TV with a click wheel. Prior to the introduction, there were sounds that Apple would build in support for the Find My network, so that you can quickly find your remote. But Apple didn't choose that.
According to Apple's Tim Twerdahl, it was a conscious decision not to include Find My support. This new Siri Remote is much thicker and you & lsquo; m less likely to lose, according to Twerdahl. It is therefore less likely to fall between the cushions of your sofa:

Twerdahl explained that Apple has switched to a new look for the remote “because it is always looking for richer experiences”. In addition, the type of content people watch has changed and people interact with the Apple TV in a different way. Some people use it as a TV box for everything and that calls for new functions, such as a mute button. People needed a remote that does everything, including turning your system on and off.
Twerdahl admits that users have become very used to the remote's five buttons and swiping to operate it. but Apple thought there was something better than the “best of both worlds”. combined.
That does mean that functions also had to be destroyed. There is no gyroscope and accelerometer anymore, so you can't use it as a game controller anymore. It's a strange development, because at one point Apple forced game developers to add controls with the Siri Remote. Since then, Apple has changed its mind, admits Twerdahl. Now the position is that if you want to play a game, it is best to use a game controller.
