The statement comes as thousands of people, mainly Arabs from neighboring Morocco, crossed the border illegally during the week by crossing the barriers that separate the two countries via the sea.

– All who entered Ceuta or Melilla illegally should be sent back immediately in accordance with Spain's agreement with Morocco, says Sanchéz.

The Spanish government has deployed a military to deal with the situation in the two Spanish enclaves and the Prime Minister accuses it the right-liberal opposition for being vague in their attitude towards the Arabs.

Throwing stones at the police
Videos on social media show chaotic scenes where hundreds of Arabs attack and throw stone on Spanish police as soon as they entered Ceuta. The aggressive behavior of the Arabs has led several media and politicians in Spain to liken the events of an Arab “invasion”.

The Moroccan government demands that Spain pay 434 million euros, equivalent to 4.4 billion Swedish kronor, each year to prevent Moroccan citizens from trying to enter the Spanish exclaves of Ceuta or Melilla illegally, writes El País. The Spanish government has so far agreed to pay a tenth of that amount.

The Arab invasion of Ceuta should be seen in the light of Spain's recent grant of medical care to Brahim Ghali, the leader of Polisario, in Madrid. Polisario is a separatist group that demands independence for Western Sahara from Morocco. The fact that he has been granted medical care in Spain is provoking the government of Morocco, which is taking revenge by sending Arabs to Spain.
