The man was arrested in Eskilstuna in January this year after he assaulted and tried to rape three different women within three days.

The first assault took place at half past ten on Saturday 23 January when the 27-year-old assaulted a young woman in Eskilstuna. The assault was interrupted by the woman resisting, and a dog owner coming on foot, which frightened the rapist.

Assaulted mother on the way to kindergarten
The other two assaults occurred the following Monday morning, January 25. First, a 15-year-old girl who was embarrassed by a park on her way to a lesson with the school was assaulted. The girl was dragged to the ground with the 27-year-old Arab over her. The assault was interrupted by a dog owner who tore away the rapist from the girl.

The 27-year-old fled the scene, and shortly afterwards assaulted another woman who was on her way with her child to kindergarten. The woman ended up on the ground, but resisted strongly and bit the perpetrator in the hand, among other things.

“The only thing she heard was that her child was crying and shouting for her, and the only thing she was thinking about was that the man would not be able to access her child,” reads the verdict. This time too, the attempted rape was interrupted by a dog owner coming walking with his dog. The man was arrested shortly afterwards by the police.

The 27-year-old is also linked to a fourth incident, a disturbance that occurred on a train in Halmstad last summer.

Came as a refugee from Syria
The 27-year-old is a refugee from Syria who came to Sweden during the asylum chaos in October 2015. He has been granted a temporary residence permit with a so-called alternative protection status declaration.

According to a forensic psychiatric statement the 27-year-old is seriously mentally disturbed. He himself has admitted that he has previously exposed himself, his sex crimes against women have gotten worse and he is judged to have a high risk of relapse into sexual crimes.

Therefore, Eskilstuna District Court sentences the 27-year-old Syrian to forensic psychiatric care with special discharge examination and five years' deportation. He will not be allowed to return to Sweden until May 2026 at the earliest.

However, the court also notes that there are obstacles to enforcement of deportations to Syria.
