XMG Neo 15 and Neo 17 (M21) with CPUs from Intel offer the mobile GeForce RTX 3080 as the new fastest GPU with 16 GB GDDR6-VRAM (test) and a maximum TDP of 165 watts (150 watt TGP plus up to 15 watts via Dynamic Boost 2.0 from the CPU) – Nvidia does not allow more. Up to now, a combined 150 watts was the specified maximum for the graphics card. Alternatively, slower equipment variants with GeForce RTX 3070 and GeForce RTX 3060 can be selected, which may consume 125 watts or 115 watts plus Dynamic Boost 2.0 – that is on the level of the GPUs in the Ryzen variant.
The XMG Neo 15 requires a support surface of 360 × 243 mm (W × D) on the desk, the Neo 17 with 396 × 261 mm (W × D). Both models have become a bit thicker than the Comet Lake H generation. The Neo 15 is 26 mm instead of 23 mm, while the larger Neo 17 in the new edition measures almost 28 mm. This corresponds to the Ryzen model. In the chassis, on the basis of the new Intel platform, the buyer receives not only PCI-Express 4.0 for connecting the graphics card and the first M.2 SSD, but also Thunderbolt 4.
Only WQHD with 165 Hz is offered
XMG only offers the new variants with Tiger Lake-H45 with a 165 Hz fast and anti-reflective WQHD panel, which can display 95 percent of the sRGB color space thanks to IPS technology. The manufacturer specifies the maximum brightness as 350 cd/m². The AMD model is alternatively available with a 240 Hertz fast FHD display. The new XMG Neo (M21) with Intel CPUs also comes with the new control center, which allows the TDP of the CPU, TGP of the GPU and Dynamic Boost 2.0 to be freely configured.

The new XMG Neo 15 and the XMG Neo 17 of the year 2021 should be able to be configured by the manufacturer from the beginning of June.
