According to Dagens Nyheter, Tamim Sultani already sought asylum in Norway during the asylum chaos in the autumn of 2015.

In his application, he showed an Afghan passport stating that he was born in 1988. The passport also contained a visa to Russia and various stamps, according to a document obtained by DN.

After being denied asylum in Norway Sultani sought happiness in neighboring Sweden instead – and now he stated that he was born in 1999. He claimed that the passport he had presented in Norway was not correct.

This time it was a success and the Swedish Migration Board granted the Afghan a temporary residence permit which has since been extended.

Both Norway and Sweden are affiliated with the Dublin Regulation, according to which you must seek asylum in the first safe country you come to. Despite this, Tamim Sultani could thus be granted asylum in Sweden after being denied asylum in Norway. as DN has read.

The Swedish Migration Agency's press service confirms to DN that no decision was made on transfer according to the Dublin Regulation. In other respects, the authority refers to the fact that secrecy applies in individual cases.
