B & amp; O Beosound Explore
The Danish audio manufacturer Bang & amp; Olufsen often makes speakers from aluminum and that is also the case with this new Bluetooth speaker. The Beosound Explore is made of anodized aluminum and is lightweight. It is a good alternative to the recently announced Sonos Roam, which is also easy to carry and can withstand a rain shower. At first glance, the B & amp; O Beosound Explore may seem a bit too fragile for a rough trek, but according to the manufacturer it's not that bad.
This speaker has a battery life of 27 hours and is specially designed for outdoor adventures. The exterior is made of a special Type 2 anodized aluminum, which is scratch resistant. The case has an IP67 rating, comparable to the AirTag. It is therefore dust and water resistant. & ldquo; We created the Beosound Explore as our most rugged speaker, able to withstand the elements outdoors, & rdquo; said B & amp; O product manager Christoffer Poulsen. He also emphasizes the extraordinary sound quality given the format. This makes the speaker ideal to take with you on any adventure.
Nice loud bass
To ensure that the whole forest can enjoy your music, there are two 1.8-inch full range drivers, which produce a bass of 59 decibels. The grill has incisions on all sides, so that you get 360 degrees of sound. You can also link two speakers into a stereo pair.
AirPlay 2 is not mentioned in the specs, but the speaker would be MFi certified. What this means is not entirely clear on the product page. There you can read that the speaker is also certified for Google Fast Pair and Microsoft Swift Pair, two ways to quickly connect.
The aluminum housing has a simple control panel at the top, which is also suitable for gloves and for cold conditions. You will receive a carabiner to hang the speaker, for example on a tree branch or backpack. Charging is done via USB-C and the connection is made with Bluetooth 5.2.
The choice of color is tailored to Scandinavian landscapes, such as forests and fjords. You can choose from Black Anthracite, Green and Gray Mist. Anthracite and green are available through the B & amp; O stores, while the gray version will be released this summer. It costs & euro; 199.
