Smart is facing an important phase of change that will bring & agrave; the brand to launch an electric SUV on the market . Some additional information about this project comes from Autoexpress which has made a new render of this vehicle based on some official sketches and teasers of the manufacturer.

FIRST LOOK AT THE POSSIBLE DESIGN
What can you & ograve; note & egrave; that the future Smart SUV will be; radically different from the current models proposed by the brand. The vehicle, however, will remain faithful to the DNA of Smart and sar & agrave; therefore thought to be able to move easily within the cities. That's why & eacute; the dimensions will grow but not excessively since the length will be around; around 4 meters with dimensions similar to those of a MINI Countryman. Inside there will be space for 5 passengers .
As the head of design explains Gorden Wagener , with this model & egrave; The opportunity was taken to 'reinvent the brand'. The design will be much more; mature and less & quot; playful & quot; than that of the ForTwo and ForFour. It seems that we will have to do it; wait for a much longer passenger compartment; modern with a latest generation infotainment system . You will not have to however, wait a long time to discover the main features of this electric SUV from Smart.
Indeed, the concept car will be & agrave; unveiled at the next Munich Motor Show to be held in September. The production version should then be launched on the market by the end of 2023. As for the technical specifications, there are no big news at the moment. The future battery-powered SUV by Smart pogger & agrave; on the Sustainable Experience Architecture (SEA) platform of Geely who with Mercedes has created a joint venture to manage the brand. This platform supports various configurations with one or more; electric motors and with battery packs of different capacities.
Obviously, given the size of the model, one should not expect the presence of a very large capacity accumulator; but you can & ograve; hypothesize that easily the SUV will be able to count on at least 320 km of autonomy. Furthermore, the platform has an 800 V architecture and therefore will be able to; have a high power charging. There are no details on the price other than the promise that this model will remain; accessible. It will be built in China.
