Domestic. It was discrimination when a food delivery company terminated the probationary period for a woman who was pregnant. This is the opinion of the Discrimination Ombudsman, DO, who has now brought an action against the company regarding discrimination related to sex.

The woman had a trial job at the food delivery company's goods reception in a place in Skåne and had worked for three months when she told her boss that she was pregnant. A month later, the boss informed her that the probationary employment would not be transferred to a permanent employment.
According to the woman, the employer explained that it was not worthwhile to extend the woman's employment because she would not work for a full year. An SMS sent to the woman by the manager regarding the reasons for the company's actions shows that the company reacted to the fact that the woman had not told her that she was pregnant in connection with her employment.
DO considers after investigating the incident that the reason until the probationary period has ended has been related to the woman's pregnancy. The DO's assessment is that the woman has thereby been disadvantaged in violation of the Discrimination Act.
The question of whether the company has discriminated against the woman will now be decided by the Labor Court.
