Weekly review and outlook: Xiaomi is on the rise, Bitcoin is on the decline

At the end of the week, the editorial team takes a look at the most widely read tests, reports and news from the past seven days. The test of the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra, including a blind test of the camera, attracted a lot of attention. Bitcoin, on the other hand, was on the downside after Tesla no longer accepted the currency.

After ComputerBase had already tested the normal Mi 11, the Mi 11 Ultra test focused on the new camera system. Not the editors themselves, but the readership should decide in a blind test which photos they like best.

Xiaomi lands behind Samsung and Apple

The result has now been determined and accordingly the recordings with the Mi 11 Ultra in a direct comparison with the Galaxy S21 Ultra and iPhone 12 Pro Max have not appealed to the fewest readers. The Mi 11 Ultra has its strengths, for example with the telephoto by day and the ultra wide angle by night. Overall, the smartphone only comes in third place.

Crucial's fastest NVMe SSD

Among the most read tests and reports of the week, C: B_retro Ausgabe_79 on the Nokia 9000 Communicator came in second. The review of the Crucial P5, which is currently the fastest NVMe SSD from the manufacturer, attracted many readers. For the status of an MX500 on the SATA port it is not enough for the new P5.

Tesla is getting out of Bitcoin

Bitcoin climbs to the top in the daily news, even though the cryptocurrency itself was on a downward slide this week after Tesla no longer accepts the currency for the purchase of e-cars. Tesla CEO Elon Musk named environmental reasons for the change of heart. Tesla does not intend to accept Bitcoin as a means of payment again until the currency is only mined using sustainable energy. According to Musk, Tesla will no longer trade in Bitcoin as long as the energy balance of the cryptocurrency has not improved significantly.

Just behind, Google makes it into second place with the first unofficial renders of the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro. The smartphone could come onto the market with a completely new design between late summer and autumn, setting itself apart from the Pixel 4a (test) and Pixel 5 (test). A two-tone back with a transverse camera bar attracts the attention of the new generation.

Google I/O and 5G Summit are coming

Google is also a good keyword for the events of the coming week. On Tuesday, the Google I/O starts as a purely virtual developer conference with the keynote at 4 p.m. German time. News around Android 12 and Google's services are on the agenda. From Wednesday Qualcomm will join them with the 5G Summit, where announcements in the areas of Snapdragon and mobile communications are expected.
