Domestic. A demonstration in support of Palestine could, under loud “Alahu akbar” shouts, be carried out in central Stockholm – despite the corona restrictions. An elderly Sami man who instead showed his support for Israel was subjected to harsh police intervention.
– It is only because we are white that we should be punished. This is how they do with Swedes, says a woman in the video in connection with the intervention.

The police in Stockholm decided on Saturday to dissolve five different public gatherings with reference to the participants, more than the allowed eight people.

One of the demonstrations was against the corona restrictions and another showed support for Palestine.

Journalist Roger Sahlström was present at both demonstrations and filmed them.

– The corona demonstration was quite aggressive towards the police. They picked up older women and shouted a lot. The police made several burglaries and divided the demon so in the end it was just the few pieces, says Sahlström and continues:

– Palestine demon was the police milder against. Until the end of Sergels torg where they made a real break and shared the demonstration with horses.

Roger Sahlström's films show how the Palestine demonstrations chant “Allahu akbar”.

– At Sergels torg they sang “From the river to the sea”. A well-known rhyme about the Jews being completely removed from Israel, says Sahlström.

He also filmed when police in gas masks intervened against an elderly Sami who confronted the protesters and showed support for Israel. The Sami were then taken into custody.

However, a police source states that the man was removed “mostly so that he would not be lynched”.

On Saturday, the police in the Stockholm region dissolved a total of five general gatherings. It was a general gathering at Kungsträdgården, a car procession judged as a general gathering that started at Kungens kurva in Huddinge, a general gathering beginning on Rådmansgatan in Vasastan, a general gathering on Strandvägen and a general gathering beginning on Sergels torg. All were dissolved with the support of the Corona Act.

An unauthorized general meeting with less than eight people was taking place in Sergels torg. The police did not have to make a decision to dissolve it.

– A dissolution takes time, but we have worked with dialogue and communication. We have also rejected and removed people who did not heed the police's calls, says Mattias Andersson, chief of police for the police operation on May 15, on the police's website.

– It is a patient test that takes time but gives results, continues he.

The police have drawn up six reports entitled violations of the Public Order Act, so-called unauthorized public gatherings. Another case concerns violence against an official – in connection with a removal, a police officer received a blow, but no visible injuries.
