Alphacool Eisbaer Pro Aurora: New pump unit with a larger base for HEDT CPUs

Alphacool's all-in-one water cooling system Eisbaer, launched in 2016, is growing in the form of the Eisbaer Pro Aurora. New in the AiO, which can still be expanded, is a modified pump unit, which is now better for Threadripper & amp; Co. is suitable. In addition, the pump and fan can light up.

Expandable compact water cooling is HEDT-compatible

Alphacool has been offering an AiO that can be expanded using quick-release fasteners apart from the standard compact water cooler for 5 years under the Eisbaer brand (test) followed by Eisbaer Extreme and Eisbaer LT, but so far it has a subtle and mostly inconspicuous look and focuses on the highest possible cooling performance.

This fundamental approach has changed with the new Eisbaer Pro Aurora product variation. The expandability remains the specialty, as well as the possibility to fill up the factory pre-filled AiO if necessary, but as Pro Aurora there is now LED lighting, which is first noticeable with the new RGB fans but also with dimensions of 64 × 79 × 54.3 mm (L × W × H) revised pump unit sits. The company logo is illuminated there.

Larger pump with new electronics

This is not just the innovation in the pump, the technology has also been fundamentally revised. The model DC-LT 2 should work more smoothly due to changes to the structure and electronics. In addition, the copper base plate, coated with nickel, has grown in size. As a result, large processors like an AMD Ryzen Threadripper for sockets TR4/sTRX4 and sWRX8 or Intel Xeon for sockets LGA 2066 and 3647 are completely covered, which ensures more efficient and faster heat dissipation from the heatspreader.

Another special feature of the entire water cooling system from Alphacool is also taken over by the Pro-Aurora-AiO: a radiator made entirely of copper. Unlike before, however, the company is now combining this with brightly colored RGB fans, which are part of the range under the name Alphacool Rise 120 and have a side length of the frame of 120 mm. Two versions are planned for the start, one with a 240 mm and one with a 360 mm heat exchanger on which two or three fans move the air faster than before. The maximum speed increases to 2,500 rpm. The static pressure and the air throughput also increase compared to the original Eisbaer water cooling.

Two models can be pre-ordered, two will follow shortly

In the Alphacool online shop, Eisbaer Pro Aurora 240 and Eisbaer Pro Aurora 360 are already activated for pre-orders at prices of 160 euros and 185 euros, respectively . Delivery is scheduled to begin in around 14 days. The two variants, Eisbaer Pro Aurora 280 and Eisbaer Pro Aurora 420, equipped with 140 mm fans, will follow later.
