The best apps of week 19-2021 in App Gemist

In the weekly section Missed App you can read which apps from the past week are worth checking out. We always discuss about five apps for iPhone, iPad and Mac. These could be apps you may not have known about or that are useful or just funny to try. And that could include old-timers who got a major update and are getting some extra attention as a result.

iCulture App of the Week: De Slimste Mens Attention all fans of quizzes: De Slimste Mens has another update. This time the app not only has new questions, but the design has been completely renewed. This makes it easier to continue with another game immediately after a turn. The app also has new functions, such as winning jars. By winning a multiplayer game three times in a row you earn such a trophy. This counter is reset every month, so you have many chances of being the smartest of the month.

The Smartest Human was never a bad app, but this update makes it a lot more pleasant to use. The layout is based on blocks, which is nice. Getting around with the new design isn't difficult. The developers also took a look at Instagram. Where the stories are on the social platform, you can see your recent games in De Slimste Mens. The app is completely free and highly recommended.

Many websites nowadays use 2FA, or two-factor authentication. This makes it a lot more difficult for malicious parties to break into your account, even if they have the password. For 2FA you need an app on your phone that gives you an extra code to enter. & ldquo; Authenticator & rdquo; is one of them. The app is completely aimed at Apple users. For starters, the app is available on iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch & Mac. Of course the keys are synchronized with each other.

The app also works offline and has a handy import mode if you want to switch from another 2FA app. There is support for widgets, so you can quickly access your codes. You have to pay for most functions. It is not much, namely ten euros a year. With the free version you cannot sync and you can add two accounts.

Orbit

Do you want to record how long you spend on certain tasks for the sake of the invoice for your work? Orbit can help you with that. This app makes it easy to keep track of your working hours and automatically creates an invoice as soon as you have completed something. What's new is the Apple Watch version. You can see from your wrist how long you have been working on a project. There is also support for complications, so you don't always have to open the entire app. Orbit is available for iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and Mac. It costs & euro; 9 per month or & euro; 88 per year.

Jax

Jax is an app to learn coding in JavaScript and React. Through & ldquo; lessons & rdquo; interactive chats allow you to practice for the quizzes. You choose which parts you want to learn, which is especially useful if you already have some knowledge. If you make meters with your quizzes, you also earn badges. The app has a nice design and is also not expensive. The basic version is free, but for & euro; 5.49 you can unlock all chats. The developer also promises to work on new chats.
