Perhaps Swedish authorities and politicians have achieved a miracle. Large parts of the population have become rich without having to work together their riches – and the party never seems to end.

In the country's largest municipalities, prices have been pushed up by 140 percent, according to a report quoted by Dagens Industri./p>

In Stockholm, an owner of a detached house has earned an average of SEK 11,182 per month on his mortgages, after tax and housing costs – for the past ten years.

– As a consumer, you should not take this rise for given. Take the opportunity to repay now when the interest rate is low. It is an excellent way to reduce its borrowing and thus its private financial risk, claim Arturo Arques, Swedbank and the savings banks' private economist, in a press release

However, it can be questioned whether the market is as healthy as Swedbank claims. Anyone who sets aside a thousand kronor a month for amortization will have paid off their mortgage for an ordinary detached house in Stockholm only in a thousand years.
