Formula 1, also misses the Turkish GP: will there be? a double race in Austria

The pandemic continues to affect the programming of the Formula 1 World Championship . Recently, Canada's race was canceled due to the country's regulations regarding international travel to prevent the spread of the dangerous virus. His place was taken by the GP of Turkey which should also have taken place on 13 June. Unfortunately, apparently this race will not be held either.

NEW CHANGES TO THE 2021 CALENDAR

The competition that was to be run on the Istanbul Park circuit is not; however, it was definitively canceled. In fact, we will try & agrave; to reorganize the Grand Prix in the second part of the season. Unfortunately, Turkey is at the moment; has been included by the UK on a list of countries with travel restrictions. A problem for the teams as no exceptions are allowed. For this, Formula 1 & egrave; was forced to change the 2021 calendar to make some adjustments.

So now there will be two races in Austria , one after the other , with the first, the Styrian Grand Prix, which will take place; from 25 to 27 June and the Austrian Grand Prix that will take place in its original dates from 2 to 4 July. As a result of this change, the French Grand Prix will be anticipated to 18-20 June. Obviously, the tickets already have; purchased for the previous date will always remain valid.

Following these changes, the World Championship will continue; to compete always on 23 races . The unknowns of the possible rescheduling of the Turkish GP and also of the Chinese GP remain. It will be known; more & ugrave; over the course of the season, hoping that the pandemic still does not affect the championship. Stefano Domenicali , President and CEO of Formula 1, said:

We were looking forward to racing in Turkey, but the travel restrictions in place prevented us from being l & igrave; in June. Formula 1 has once again shown that it is able to react quickly to developments and find solutions and we are delighted that we will have a double round in Austria which means that our season remains 23 races. I want to thank the promoter and the authorities; in Turkey for all their efforts in recent weeks and I would like to thank the promoters in France and Austria for their speed, flexibility and flexibility. and enthusiasm in welcoming this solution. We have had excellent conversations with all the other promoters since the start of the year and will continue to work closely with them during this time.
