The desktop processors of the AMD Ryzen 5000 family have hardly been available for RRP since the market launch in November 2020. Also due to the ongoing corona crisis and the bottlenecks in semiconductor production, prices rose significantly. Now the level of all models is approaching the origin again.
AMD had the CPUs Ryzen 5 5600X, Ryzen 7 5800X, Ryzen 9 5900X and Ryzen 9 5950X for non-binding in November Price recommendations of 299 euros, 449 euros, 549 euros and 799 euros have been released. However, due to the high demand, retailers' stocks were sold out after a short time. With sustained high demand and at the same time scarce quantities, prices quickly increased. Availability remained bad for a long time.
Ryzen 9 5900X 15 percent cheaper within 2 weeks
Even if the Ryzen 5000 are now readily available, since the initial rush has long since subsided, the prices are usually still well above the previous RRP. But in the last few days there has been a clear downward trend in online trading. The Ryzen 9 5900X as the most popular model in the price comparison has even reached the RRP from November with the current minimum price of 549 euros. Within two weeks the price fell by 100 euros or around 15 percent.
The Ryzen 5 5600X has still not reached the RRP, which was around five percent cheaper within two weeks at 309 euros. The flagship Ryzen 9 5950X is currently 818 euros missing from the recommended retail price.
