“But there are not 2 million Arabic speakers in Sweden. The absolute largest majority of their followers do not even live in Sweden, it goes without saying. Is it then reasonable for a newspaper that mainly addresses countries and residents outside Sweden to receive press support? “, writes Rebecca Weidmo Uvell.

According to the Press Support Ordinance, however, it is sufficient that 90 percent of the “subscribed edition” is distributed in Sweden, for the newspaper to be counted as a Swedish newspaper.
