Aerocools Gladiator Duo is a compact midi tower that relies on passive air flow in the factory configuration. In the delivery state, three fans are installed, but all of them convey air out of the case. There are various reasons for this, not just in the area of cooling.
The ventilation concept is accompanied by a very common layout. Fans can be attached behind the front and on the power supply tunnel. A 120 mm model in the rear and two additional fans under the lid are included. They are not only used for ventilation, but also to illuminate the interior thanks to their RGB LEDs. The light show is complemented by an LED strip on the front, and it is controlled via a hub with six connections for 6-pin fans – an Aerocool format that is not used universally.
Knapp for graphics cards
Radiators can be used up to a size of 240 mm under the lid and 360 mm behind the front. Any kind of cooling on the front is at the expense of the graphics card. It is only 326 millimeters long, but this only applies if there are neither fans nor radiators on the front. Their depth must be deducted from this amount. Active fresh air supply reduces the available space to 301 millimeters, with an additional radiator only about 278 millimeters remain. The Gladiator Duo is the highlight of the latest trend in the budget area towards ever shorter housings, which is concealed here by the paper form – the absence of front fans.

On the other hand, coolers can be installed in common sizes due to the height restriction of 161 millimeters. There are also limitations with hard disks, where Aerocool makes the mounting options qualitatively simple. Two 2.5 “HDDs are screwed directly through the mainboard tray, a bracket on the bottom of the case holds a 3.5” drive. There is no slot here either. Another data carrier can also be screwed onto the top of the bracket. This requires both the removal of the bracket and the drive installed in it.
For these reasons, the Gladiator Duo can be expected in the price range around 50 euros. Aerocool has not yet issued a price recommendation. Information on availability is still pending.
