Affected by a blood clot – no game in six months

IFK Norrköping's Icelandic midfielder Oliver Stefansson has suffered a blood clot in his throat. – I will probably not play football for at least six months, says the 18-year-old to Norrköpings Tidningar.

TTThe promising Icelander has occasionally had hip problems, but was on his way back. In connection with a training session at the end of last week Stefansson got a heart ache. He rested completely for two days, but when one arm turned red and swollen he was sent to hospital, writes NT. – Then we did not know that it was so very serious but I had to be in hospital for 15 hours and stayed overnight. They think it comes from the fact that I trained a lot of upper body at the gym. The muscles have grown and the veins that transport the blood have not really kept up. The blood does not flow back as I understand it. IFK's doctor Bengt (Janzon) who has worked for many, many years had not been involved in it more than twice, says Oliver Stefansson to Norrköpings Tidningar. The Icelander has received strict orders not to play sports or risk raising his heart rate.
