The world: the United States greater threat to democracy than China and Russia

Abroad. In a major international study, the United States and the major internet giants were singled out as two of the biggest foreign threats to democracy, reports The Guardian.

The survey was conducted by the Alliance of Democracies Foundation, with 50,000 participants in 53 different countries.

Almost half of those surveyed, 44 percent, believe that the United States threatens democracy in their country. In comparison, 28% believe that Russia is doing the same, and 38% see China as a threat to democracy.

China. It is mainly Russia, China and the European countries that are concerned about the US influence, writes The Guardian.

At the same time, half of the respondents (48 percent) state that the big internet giants, who control social media , threatens democracy. In the Western world, it is the Americans (62 percent) who are most worried about the internet giants.
