In the weekly section Missed App you can read which apps from the past week are worth checking out. We always discuss about five apps for iPhone, iPad and Mac. These could be apps you may not have known about or that are useful or just funny to try. And that could include old-timers who got a major update and are getting some extra attention as a result.

Discussed earlier this week on iCulture:

  • With Luna Display, you can now use a Mac. use wired as second screen

iCulture App of the Week: EcoScan Anyone who wants to separate their waste sometimes comes across the question of which bin to put something in. To answer that question you can download the Dutch EcoScan. In 2018 we already wrote about EcoScan as an app that scans your waste. This week, however, there is reason to bring the app back into the spotlight. A handy update has been released.

EcoScan will now ask you to share your location. This is used to determine whether your municipality conducts post-separation. This way you get the best advice for your municipality. Not all municipalities are currently known in the app. Furthermore, the app is now better in terms of interaction and there is support for the dark mode of your iPhone. EcoScan is free with ads, but you can buy them off.

Sonid

Sonid is a Dutch app for learning music theory. After a short explanation of all kinds of parts, you as a starting musician learn step by step about music. After the explanation there is a lesson. For example, you will receive true/false questions about chords on the piano. Are you playing and are you not getting the right chords? Or do you want to learn more about a specific topic? In Sonid you will also find a database of music theory. Of course you can also listen to everything in Sonid to remember it better.

The app was developed by music teacher and app developer Martijn Ensing. Over the past year, he has developed Sonid on his own. You can use Sonid for free with ads. You buy this off with Sonid Plus, which also gives you more insight into your correct and incorrect answers in lessons. There are also more exercises available.

SwitchBuddy

Anyone who owns a Nintendo Switch knows that it can be a bit tricky to share your screenshots. The Switch makes it easy to tweet your screenshots, but that may not always be what you want. There is now SwitchBuddy for that. This app syncs with your Nintendo Switch and saves all your screenshots. You can do this in your own photo library, but also in iCloud Drive. This way you can easily share them via your favorite social app.

Denim

Denim allows you to create beautiful images for your Apple Music playlists. By default, this is a mix of album covers from the list's artists. That can get quite monotonous if you make a lot of playlists yourself. We previously wrote about Denim in the App Missed, but the app has now received a nice update.

So you can now get a preview of what your cover will look like when you set it up, just in Denim . In addition, there are over 20 new artworks to choose from, from country, to house, to study music. To keep everything organized, there is also a more useful overview with categories & euml; n built in.
