Timber-framed, with winding streets, a continuous city wall, Rothenburg is pure romance. Every year around two million tourists flock to the small town. It is one of the highlights on the Romantic road, the most famous holiday route in Germany.

Until the 17th century. Century was Rothenburg, a wealthy city, after the siege in the 30-years war, it lost in importance, and became after this a little further. The old town has remained fundamentally intact.
