Hetero, homo, bi. You know. Trans – and inter-sexually, too, maybe. But who knows what to demisexuell mean? We try to pave a way through the thicket of sexual orientations.
I admit it: Me, the Group irritated remembrance mania, when it comes to the sexual orientation of people. The many small, narrow drawers not more for an emphasis on “otherness”, as that all the life and Love of normality be?
Maybe this is just the naive perspective of a cis hetero woman who has never been treated with hostility because of one’s sexual orientation and, therefore, easy to talk to. Wait a minute, cis-hetero? Exactly, there it is already. So, we try to bring some light into the Dark.
Who am I? Cis, trans-or inter?
Who comes up with unambiguous female or male genitals to the world and also in the following years of life with this birth-gender-identified, it is allowed to call themselves a “Cis-woman” or “Cis-man”.
“Cis” comes from Latin and means “on this side”. Similarly, trans “(beyond)” is used to describe people who do not identify with their biological sex.
More: man? Woman? Both? – What exactly is intersexuality?
Intersex, in turn, come in both male and female characteristics, and can be assigned to any of the two genders clearly. Since last year, can be registered in Germany, in addition to “male” and “female,” “divers” as a third gender option in birth register.
Who do I like? Hetero, homo, bi and pan
Cis-, Trans – and intersexuality describe a part of a person’s identity, but say nothing about who a Person loves or sexual partners preferred. The heterosexual man is to women. The homosexual woman, also. So far, So clear.
However, in the case of bisexuality, it is more complicated. Basically, Bisexuals feel towards both sexes are attracted. But not necessarily equal. Significantly, the Kinsey scale makes a representation of the sexual orientation of the people and the invention of the sex researcher Alfred Charles Kinsey.
Between “exclusively heterosexual” and “exclusively gay” exist according to the scale of a few shades. Kinsey has summarized these gradations in 1948, all under the concept of bisexuality.

The invention of the sexes
Today he would probably speak more of the “Pansexualität”. While Bisexuals in male-female thinking in categories, wide Pansexuelle the group of potential sex – and life-partner on the “diverse” gender.
Bisexual (and probably pansexuelle) people need to listen to frequently, you do not want to bind, and with as many people as possible to bed. This is about as true as the assumption that heterosexuals are generally monogamous.
More: Homo, Hetero, or Bi – sexuality is difficult to categorize
Whether someone lives monogamous or polygamous, so a sexual partner is limited or several irons in the fire has, in turn, is on a different sheet. Downstream of no one, but polygamous Cis has a probably-straight people should be just as Bisexual as monogamous Trans.
What am I? A Selection
To some readers some of the following terms are seem foolish. Or bizarre. Probably both. Perhaps the question arises again, why everything needs a drawer?
Demisexuell
Sexual pleasure is not noticeable, if not also an emotional connection to the Person. Also has a name: demisexuell. Demise xualität like the Online Dating to the point of absurdity, is expected to protect but relatively reliable in front of lousy One-Night Stands.
Sapiosexuell
Toned body, bright smile and beautiful eyes is not enough, the Sapiosexuellen out. Erotic, clever conversations and the intellectual level of a person in the first place. Pretty useful for anyone who would like to be on all levels, stimulates.
Car sexually
Sigmund Freud coined this Term for all forms of sexual self-gratification. Car sexuality but it also means that someone’s burning in yourself. Affected reports of butterflies in the belly, once you see yourself in the mirror. We leave it the way it is and not agree to the fact that a (healthy) self-love definitely hurts.
Asexual
Asexual people have no need for Sex. Not because they are sexual interactions generally nasty or uptight. Unlike celibacy, or other forms of abstinence, asexuality is not a conscious decision, but rather a sexual orientation. Only without the Sex.
What all of these categories? If the majority of people are cis-hetero, and, it is not enough to designate only the sexual orientations that deviate from this Norm? Of course, one can make. However, this would legitimize the division of people into “normal” and “not normal”.
Another option would be to have all the categories and look at each sexual orientation as a part of the Norm. But we are not there yet.
