The Africa Cup in Egypt has its first Surprise: Algeria defeated Senegal, one of the big favorites to win the tournament. For debutant Madagascar, the football fairy-tale goes on, meanwhile, next.
Senegal – Algeria 0:1 (0:0)
In the current FIFA world ranking, Senegal is in Position 22, and is the best recorded Team in Africa. But, you can buy anything at the Kontinentalcup in Egypt. After the 2:0-duty victory in the opening game against Tanzania, the Senegalese conceded in their second group C game in Cairo, a bitter 0:1 (0:0)-defeat against Algeria, which is already in advance in the second round. Their first game against Kenya had decided the Algerians with 2:0.

Madagascar – Burundi 1:0 (0:0)
Marco Ilaimaharitra has written for his country’s football history. The 23-year-old midfielder scored in Alexandria with a free-kick for the winning goal (76.) 1:0 (0:0)-success of Madagascar against Burundi and gave the tournament a newcomer to the first victory at the Africa Cup at all. After the 2:2 in the first game against Guinea, the island Team now has a good chance to reach the knockout phase. In the last game of the group B Madagascar applies to tournament favorites Nigeria qualified with two Wins already for the round of best 16 teams.

Already in the first half Madasgaskar was in the duel of the Africa-debutants the better Team and had several good chances. The best defused Burundi goalkeeper Jonathan Nahimana, in the 19th century. Minute after a shot by Carolus Andriamatsinoro with a gloss parade the opening goal in Madagascar prevented. In the middle of the second half, Burundi came back into the game and to own opportunities. But then Ilaimaharitra, who earns his money at the Belgian Erstlististen Sporting Charleroi took from the box and sank the Ball in the left corner of the net. A wonder goal that put the whole of Madagascar in frenzy of joy.
