Ashleigh Barty wins the French Open

As the first Australian for four decades, Ashleigh Barty triumphed in Paris. In the third round she beat Andrea Petkovic as the last German player from the tournament. Now you get the trophy.

Three years after her return to the Tennis Tour, the Australian Ashleigh Barty has won the French Open and her first title at a Grand Slam tournament celebrated. The 23-Year-old prevailed in the final in Paris against the 19-year-old Czech player Marketa Vondrousova with 6:1, 6:3.

Barty is the first Australian winner in Paris since Margaret Court in 1973. In the world ranking will improve from eighth place to second place. “I’m a bit speechless. I played a perfect Match, I’m insanely proud of what I have achieved. The incredible two weeks,” said Barty after their third win in the third duel with Vondrousova.

Barty the overmatched Vondrousova had little Chance, after the victory but comforting words for her opponent: “Marketa has an incredible season, you will still stand in many Grand Slam Finals.”

2.3 Million Euros

The Australian took the first set after only 30 minutes. In the second, an early Break succeeded again. After just 70 minutes, the chances of the Czech Republic to victory and 2.3 million euros in prize money there were.

2014 Barty had taken following the US Open, a break from Tennis because the Sport was no longer enjoyable, and the cricket are facing. In 2016, the trained Barista gave her Comeback on the WTA Tour and fought his way to the top.
