The German pavilion at the art Biennale in Venice is likely to make. He is supposed to represent a so-called anchor center for Refugees. Why, explains the curator, Franciska Zólyom.

Deutsche Welle: Franciska Zólyom, you curate the German pavilion at the art Biennale. What attracted you to the collaboration with the artist Natascha Süder Happel, man?

Franciska Zólyom: Me interested in her, that it with the means of art again and again in very different social Publics to act. And, indeed, aesthetic experience with political disputes in a very poetic and humorous way to associate.

And what that means for the German Biennale-Pavillon?

For the pavilion, our Consideration of a direct experience, a direct experience was to create something Accessible, what one learns in the pavilion, where our work began with the first public event with the press conference in October 2018, where the artist with the stone mask entered for the first Time in appearance. Since then, three films were released, which show the path of the artist, on you has made, in order to make a picture of the only camps in the South of Germany, from the Tomato plantations in the South of Italy and of the ship of the Organisation “youth Saves”, which is set out in the customs port of Trapani and its work has now been charged legally.

Who would like to the artist with their work and whom you want to reach as a curator?

The Venice Biennale has a very international audience, with over 600,000 visitors….

And what is the role of music in the German pavilion?

We have been working together with six musicians coming from very different musical traditions – new music as well as Improvisation, Jazz, Arabic music, or DJs who work with West African sounds and to locate the in the club scene. Our idea was to make this separation between genres, traditions, cultures again and again consistently. And to look for shortcuts, which occur, perhaps, for a few moments, and then new Connections are received.

What is the purpose?

We wanted to find out whether it is possible to consider identity as something Coherent and consistent, rather than the quality of the connection and the relationship we have assets. Let us define, how we Express ourselves to each other, as us natural resources, such as we public or private? This has us very interested. The swings in the compositions, all of which were created for the whistle.

What is the significance then of identity?

You want to be aware of how the own contribution, their own responsibility towards others, towards the planet, towards the tracks that you want to leave, then identity is a very interesting question. And I think the discussion of identity is always interesting, when it comes to a quick conclusion, but a variety of possibilities of addiction.
