Spotify, with more than 100 million subscription customers

The Numbers in the music streaming market leader Spotify only to a limited extent: While the mark of 100 million paid subscription was cracked customers. At the same time, a loss of 142 million euros in the first quarter.

The number two in the market of music streaming services, Apple Music, came out last year to over 50 million subscribers.

Growth through acquisitions

In the past three months, Spotify has gained about four million paying customers. The average revenue per customer fell below the within a period of three months from 4.89 in on 4,71 Euro. This is partly due to the growing popularity of cheaper, family and student subscriptions. Spotify CEO Daniel Ek announced that it plans to find new growth, among other things, in the Podcast market. For that Spotify was now $ 358 million for acquisitions of three companies that are active in the industry.
