E-cigarette heart attacks and depression cause

A US study shows that E-cigarettes are more dangerous than many believe: Smoking heart disease and Depression risk. However, the conventional cigarettes are much more dangerous.

Smokers of E-cigarettes have in comparison to non – smokers, and a 56 percent higher risk of having a heart attack. The risk for stroke or suffer is about 30 percent higher.

Coronary heart disease occurs, about ten percent more likely to have vascular diseases such as blood clots, about 44 percent more often. Depression, anxiety disorders and other emotional disorders occur about twice as often as non-smokers.

These data come from a Team led by medical Professor Mohinder Vindyhal of Kansas School of Medicine in Wichita. The results of his research will Vindyhal on the cardiology Congress ACC19 in New Orleans on the 18. March 2019 introduce. The summary will appear here.

Hands away from the evaporators

“I don’t want any evaporated of my patients, or family members ‘E-cigarette’ ‘” said Vindyhal. “We have found that it doesn’t matter how many times someone E-cigarettes consumed. Even if it only happens on some days [in the week], increases however, the likelihood of a heart attack or coronary heart disease.”

His study disproves the widely held view that E-cigarettes are clearly less hazardous than regular cigarettes, because they have no flue gases and, therefore, less toxins from the combustion process and reach the lungs.

Classic cigarettes are still much more dangerous

Normal cigarettes did, however, significantly worse than E-cigarettes. There is the risk of a heart attack was 165 percent higher, the risk of coronary heart disease by 94 percent, and of stroke by 78 percent.

Vindyhal used for its study on data from a broad Interview study by the US centre for health care.

In this study 96.467 participants had answered in the years 2014, 2016 and 2018 questions about their use or Non-use of E-cigarettes. In General, users of E-cigarettes were with an average age of 33 years, younger than the users of regular cigarettes, which are, on average, older than 40 years.

“So far, there was little disease on coronary known in connection with the use of E-cigarettes”, was ringing the doctors Vindyhal. “This data should be a Wake-up, so that we can be and an awareness of the dangers of E-cigarettes.”

A complex chemical cocktail

In E-cigarette nicotine will be vaporized-containing carrier liquids. These can contain chemicals, Glycerin, Propene, or ethylene glycol.

Add to this various flavorings and other chemicals. The temperature of the electrically-powered “cigarette” must be high enough to generate steam.

Vindyhal estimates that there are more than 460 different E-cigarette designs on the U.S. market and that, more than 7700 flavors are offered. About every second US citizen “evaporated” by the way, already.
